We asked students: What would you do if you were King or Queen for the day?
” I would try the best Queen dress and I would put on my head the Queen’s crown and then I would order the biggest party, where there would be the biggest world celebrities and all my family and friends. And I would like to give a lot of money to the good things like children, the ill, and animals, and I would forbid wars all over the world. I would say to all the people: ‘Be happy, have open your heart and think about other people.’ “- Lucia, Czech Republic
” I would change all the members of the Italian parliament, because the majority are corrupt and think only of their wallets. Also, I’d like to eliminate the illegal groups, which have made Italy famous. I’d organise the biggest concert in the world ever, with the biggest rock bands ever, like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, and I’d play the guitar with them. So, first for the Italian good, and after- for my happiness!”-Lorenzo, Italy
“I would invite every president in the world to my special Japanese dinner. And I would hear from them about their country’s problems and qualities. Maybe I can give good advice? There are so many countries in the world, but of course I have Buckingham Palace which has many big rooms! So, I would have separate rooms for each area- an Asia area, a Europe area, an Africa area…And I would prepare a special dinner, which means Japanese food and Japanese decoration, even though I’m the monarch of the UK!”- Yoko, Japan
“I’d like to help a poor people of my country. I would like to eliminate the corruption and build the services or structure necessary to improve the future. I know that one day is not enough, but why not try? This would be a first step to renew a country that has fallen too low.”-Andrea, Italy
“I would first fire most of the members of parliament of the Czech Republic. I would investigate corruption in my country. Then I would decrease taxes for normal people and increase it for politicians and very rich people. I would give some money to charity. After that I would enjoy the rest of the day. I would try on expensive dresses and jewellery. Maybe I would do some shopping! In the evening I would have a big party with all my friends in thecastle. We would drink cocktails and eat exotic meals.”- Katerina, Czech Republic
“I would invite all the kings, monarchs and presidents with all my friends and family for a big lunch party to Windsor Castle. I would wear the most beautiful royal dress with a suitable hat on my head. It would be outside on a huge grass field, and it would be hot and sunny weather. After lunch which would take at least five hours, we will be going to do some charity, and visit lots of places like hospitals, creches, nurseries. Then we would take a flight to some poor countries and we will help sick children and the poor and be giving them food, clothes, books and medical assistance.”- Silvia, Slovakia
“I would change our political scene and environment. I would cancel the Parliament and all the politicians have to return their money from corruption. I would give this money to charity- for children, animals, poor people. The I would change our laws. After this hard work, I would make a big party for all the poeple with lots of food and drink! And the next day I would wake up and I would again be a normal human like everyone else- but I hope in a better world.”- Michala, Czech Republic
“I would like to change the Japanese government. I think most of the Japanese politicians don’t do anything. They discuss about administration, but they never do antyhing. The Japanese prime minister, Noguchi, had a speech that he was going to raise tax by 10% at a meeting with other countries. However, he didn’t talk to the Japanese people about it before! He just decided by himself. So, I would change Japan!”-Asuka, Japan
“I would like to do a lot fo things but I’m afraid that I wouldn’t have so much time for all these things. In my country, there is a lot of corruption and you can find a good job only if you have a a very good friend or a family member among the managers of a company. But I would like to increase taxes for the rich people for example.”- Marketa, Czech Republic
