Work Experience

Work Experience

What is Work Experience?

Work Experience or Work Placement or Internship is your chance to spend time in Ireland or England studying English and doing an unpaid professional placement in a local company.

This experience can help you learn about yourself and discover how you can survive working in a foreign country.

If you choose this programme we will ask you to send us your C.V. and a cover letter. A counsellor will then be able to help you and advise about the type of placement available. Your experience, qualifications and level of English will all be factors that determine where you can work.

You will spend the first 4 weeks doing an English course, we recommend you choose Intensive English as the best option. During this time you will meet your Work Experience advisor and you will probably have to attend one or two interviews.

In Dublin and London you can do a full time placement (working normal office hours between 0900 and 1700) and in Totnes you can do a full or part time placement.

Following the English course you will begin your placement for 4 - 12 weeks.

At present this programme is only open to students from the European Union or Switzerland, who have full legal rights to work in Ireland or the United Kingdom.

Why is Work Experience for you?

  • You want to improve your C.V. to find a better job.
  • You want to try a new experience.
